Apple has hiked iPhone 17 prices in India after unveiling iPhone Duo and iPhone 18 Pro lineup at the “Surprise and shine” event. The tech giant has also raised the prices of iPhone 16, iPhone 17e, and iPhone Air.
What are Apple's New iPhone Prices in India?
The iPhone price hike in India will see some storage variants of iPhone 16, 17, and Air costing up to Rs 65,000 more. For instance, iPhone 17 now starts at Rs 99,900 compared to the Rs 82,900 launch price. iPhone Air recorded the biggest price jump with the 1TB version now costing more than 40% its launch price.

iPhone Price Hikes Had Been a Long Time Coming
Apple had warned that product prices could increase due to increasing memory and storage costs. Earlier this year, former CEO Tim Cook said rising costs were making price increases difficult to avoid. Although Apple initially covered some of the additional costs, Cook noted that absorbing higher costs indefinitely was no longer sustainable.
The tech company announced price hikes on MacBooks and iPads in June in what became the first formal move to pass rising memory chip costs on to consumers. The increase affected MacBook Pro, MacBook Air, and iPad lineups, with iPhone prices remaining unchanged.
With iPhone 18 Pro now launched, Apple is passing those higher costs on to customers across its existing iPhone 17 and iPhone Air line-up. The price hikes come at a time when rapid AI data center expansion continues to strain global memory chip supply by fueling demand for DRAM, NAND, and other components.
When Will iPhone 18 Be Available in India?
Following the “Surprise and shine” event, the new Apple’s iPhone 18 will be available in India starting September 18. Pre-orders for both iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max will begin September 12 at 5.30 PM IST in India via App Stores.
Both iPhones are powered by Apple’s A20 Pro chip and feature upgraded camera systems. iPhone 18 Pro’s pricing starts at Rs 1,64,900 while that of iPhone 18 Pro Max starts at Rs 1,79,900.
